Matt Hensley on joining Flogging Molly and getting threatened with a gun in the parking lot

Fantastic video interview with Matt Hensley of Flogging Molly.

I’ve been trying to remember who told the story I’d read about getting threatened with a gun for playing accordion.  This is the guy. (see 2:54) I’m sure unfortunately that he’s not the only one over the years.

His take on meeting people worse off than him is really moving.  He sounds like such a nice guy.  I hope maybe we’ll get to meet him at some point.

If that’s a standard 3-row diatonic, the piece he’s playing starting at 1:52 is amazing.

The previous part of the video tells of his skateboard carrier and how he left it to (eventually) find the accordion.

Note, there’s an honest amount of swearing if you care about such things.
