Accordion Noir radio playlist 2013-03-13: International Women’s (including Accordion Babes) Day

When March comes around we’re often looking at the accordion calendar, trying to find holidays to frame episodes of our weekly hour-long broadcast — some years Mardi Gras falls in March, some February.  St. Patrick’s Day is a bonafide March accordion holiday, and another one is International Women’s Day.  Some years we do a one-episode special on the topic, and other years we celebrate it all month!  This recording from our archives, first aired ten years ago, is one of the former.  If there are women holding down solid work on the squeezebox, fronting ensembles or composing worthwhile songs, Bruce has most likely found a way to incorporate them into these Marchtime playlists.  If you missed it the first time around, you can enjoy listening to this episode again as digital audio courtesy of the Internet Archive.  Here’s its playlist:
