Accordion Noir radio playlist 2012-12-19: Best Live Guests 2012

Back when, er, it was safe to have live guests join us in the radio station studio (and generally, when Rowan was spending fewer evenings tucking his kids into bed and more evenings hanging out at bars networking with gigging musicians) we would strive to feature as many relevant live musical guests as we could on our weekly alt-accordion broadcast on CFRO Co-Op Community Radio.  Some years there were surprisingly rather a lot of them, especially when we had traveling acts coming through town to play at our festival!  One of our frequent end-of-year, “year-in-review” episode themes would be a look back at a highlights reel featuring live recordings made of all of the live musical guests we’d featured on our program that year.  Looking at the playlist for this episode, our 316th, suggests that perhaps we didn’t manage to book all that many guests in 2012, but they were all solid gold. The highlights reel allows us to underscore their intimate musical performances without bogging them down with our distracting banter and interview questions.  You can enjoy giving it another listen courtesy of the Internet Archive.  Here’s its playlist:
