From ten years ago, here’s episode 295 of CFRO Co-Op Community Radio’s weekly hour-long Accordion Noir radio broadcast.  A decade down the line, we have very little supporting information to share about this installment of our long-running series — no information about the motivation behind the musical selections or their particular context.  That said, what you get is always our gold standard of a heady melange of different styles of music performed by different instruments in the free-reed aerophone, as practiced regionally in different parts of the world.  Even the everyday and ordinary for us is still a whirlwind tour of the globe!  Maybe no further context is necessary, can’t the music stand on its own?  We like to think that it can.  (Possibly with the assistance of a music stand for the sheet music, and perhaps a more substantial stand for the Cordovox users.)  You can enjoy listening to this historical recording as digital audio courtesy of the Internet Archive.  Here’s its playlist:

Gus Viseur – Rosetta
Andy Fielding – Accordion Noir theme song
Bob Dylan – Beyond Here Lies Nothin’
Rory O’Connor – Sky Suite, Mov. 1
Dusminguet – Sopeton
Jessica Lurie – Circus Rain
The Malarkeys – Time Machine
Bučan Bučan – “Playin’ That Stuff”
The Wallets – Because You’re Mine
The English Country Blues Band – Handsome Johnny
MewithoutYou – In A Sweater Poorly Knit
Tarkin – Chasse Aux Perdreux
TheCapeMay – Old and Early Numbers
Misty River – Star of the County Down / Road to Lisdoonvarna…

Thanks for reading us here (and hopefully listening to us, there), but if you find you want more, you can always keep up with us on Twitter (@AccordionNoir and @AccordionBruce), Instagram (@AccordionNoirFest), and Facebook at Accordion Noir fansthe Accordion Noir Festival, and the Vancouver Squeezebox Circle. Cheers & squeeze on!
