Accordion Noir radio playlist 2021-05-05: Bandcamp Friday’n an’out

AccNoir 2021-05-05

May 6 is World Accordion Day. Bruce tells us that this is on the occasion of the patenting of the instrument, which will turn 200 on this date in only 8 more years! (What a time to be alive!)  Of course, there’s a lot more going on May 6 — many video streams, including the Accordion Babes’ Accordion Fridays, World Accordion Day festivities at the World of Accordion Museum (and online), Victoria’s World Accordion and Tango Festival (virtual edition), and of course… BandcampFriday, the new preferred way to get your favorite musicians paid. Just the other day, someone else did the math and announced that buying a band’s album on Bampcamp, once, is as financially advantageous to the band as streaming it every day for three years. And so Bruce again presents a set of worthwhile squeezy performers who can be supported in this fashion. (Fear not, Omnichord fans, your bonus episode is in the bag!) If your Apple or Android podcast subscriptions (strongly recommended!) haven’t alerted you to its availability yet, you can enjoy this week’s episode as digital audio courtesy of the Internet Archive. Here’s its playlist:
