Accordion Noir radio playlist 2011-04-20 (early show): Joanna Chapman-Smith and Katheryn Petersen Noir

From ten years ago, here’s episode 227 of CFRO Co-Op Community Radio’s weekly hour-long “Accordion Noir” radio program.  As now, ten years ago this was also spring member drive season for CFRO (have you renewed your annual membership yet?), and we did what we could to stack the deck with special guests and extraordinary programming.  On this occasion we were joined by the incredible singer-songwriter Joanna Chapman-Smith, accompanied by the versatile Katheryn Petersen who would go on to play such a huge role in directing our annual festival for its hugest years in the meantime!  We also put the lie to “hour-long” by immediately following this broadcast with another two-hour alt-instrument special, the magnificent “Banjo Noir” … but one thing at a time!  At its original online home, across most of a decade this episode tallied some 9732 listens, and you can continue enjoying it today as digital audio courtesy of the Internet Archive.  Here’s its playlist:

For the Spring Membership Drive at Co-op Radio we had a triple-length episode on April 20. Part one welcomed special guest Joanna Chapman-Smith and Katheryn Petersen to our studio. Parts 2 & 3 we went all Banjo crazy, coming up.]

Happy spring-time, and please, support Accordion Noir and Co-op Radio (without whom there wouldn’t be an Accordion Noir), by becoming a member. Go to http://www.AccordionNoir.org or http://www.CoopRadio.org and donate online. We really especially supporters who’ve become “sustaining” donors by arranging to donate a little bit every month. Those add up to a lot of support over the year. We love that most of all.

When you’re able to donate, please do add a comment that, “Accordion Noir sent me!” Then we know who loves squeezing.

Thanks much,

Bruce and Rowan
