Accordion Noir radio playlist 2010-12-22: Holiday Noiria

December 21, 2020

Due to the bonus episodes of our historical end-of-year celebrations, sometimes our ten-years-ago December playlists fall our of sync with what’s going on in the present day.  So I’m going to sequence-break a little bit, skip a couple of historical broadcasts and share with you our 2010 winter holiday playlist, then we’ll catch up with the omitted recordings before New  Year’s.  We now resume this pre-scheduled post-in-progress…

From ten years ago, here’s episode #210 of CFRO Co-op Community Radio’s weekly hour-long Accordion Noir program, featuring the wildest and woolliest (and in this episode, winter-iest) squeezebox music to be found anywhere on the planet!  We have been sharing our odd winter traditions with you, and here is perhaps the most offbeat of all — dedicating the episode nearest to Christmas to actual holiday music and songs on winter themes.  I know, right?  How normcore!  Hardly what you’d expect of our motley band of non-conformists.  But like Tim Minchin might say, “I really like Christmas / It’s sentimental, I know, but I just really like it.”  At its original online home, this recording was enjoyed some 6866 times — and you can continue enjoying its seasonal squeezing sounds today, courtesy of the Internet Archive.  Here’s its playlist:
