Accordion Noir radio playlist 2020-11-04: Ana Bon-Bon live at the Virtual Accordion Noir Festival

November 6, 2020

We pondered long and hard how to best dovetail the live music world of our annual festival with the socially distanced world of Pandemic Planet, 2020. With all the emphasis on digital streaming, it occurred to us that as decade+ veterans of radio broadcasting… we were already old hands at finding ways into people’s eardrums without breathing the same air as them! Thus it would make a whole lot of sense to even ceremonially mount at least one small part of our festival from our home away from home at the CFRO radio station ( — albeit a home we hadn’t set foot in for the past eight months, due to pandemic precautions.)

Our longstanding friend and local inspiration Ana Bonbon made sense to kick things off in style with, and after hosting her for an hour, playing songs for our listeners (and the viewers of our videostreams on Facebook and Instagram!) and answering penetrating interview questions, we threw on a supplementary hour previewing the hoped participants of our following, purely digital, festival events. (And while the songs were playing, we quickly recorded the introduction blurbs for yesterday’s MacLean Park Music highlights reel 8) Speaking of purely digital events — if you haven’t yet been notified of the availability of this double-length episode by your Apple or Android podcast subscriptions, you can always of course simply download it as digital audio courtesy of the Internet Archive. In any case — here’s its playlist!
