Cheerful bantering in #AccordionTwitter about the desperate excesses of advertising copy in the failing final years of the Golden Age of the Accordion (the specimen quoted above is, apparently, doctored) led to this week’s double-length(+), member drive fundraiser “love songs” special episode of CFRO’s weekly Accordion Noir broadcast / podcast. If you haven’t yet been notified by your Apple or Android podcast subscriptions, you can listen to it now courtesy of the Internet Archive. Here’s its “epic” playlist:

AccNoir-2020-10-21, Hand-Pumped Throbbing Organ of Love
(Fall Co-op Radio 2-hour fund-raiser episode!)

From Bruce:

In the broadcast I rudely talked over the Emeralds’ track “Dancing With You” twice since I repeated it accidentally. I replaced the second one here with “Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?”

Also note, as a bonus for podcast listeners: at the end I added on here the tracks I talked over, without me talking over them again.

Finally, “Songs I talked over” podcast bonus add-on at the end:
(Test out your Hi-FI set or wear headphones with the Three Suns especially)

Ah yes…the Tiger accordion. I remember those. A friend back in SF Bay Area had one with all black keyboard and fluorescent orange case color. It also had one register that had a reed set tuned a 5th off as I recall. Maybe I should get my accordions wrapped in that fluorescent orange than I could be sexy too…..well at 73 years of age…maybe not 😉
