Ten years ago we were hyping up the third instalment of our annual accordion festival.  (This year’s is coming up, in a couple of months, and we should have some announcements for you within the next couple of weeks.)  It was a week-long affair — basically Rowan saw a number of consecutive nights available at a series of free venues and resolved, if he had to go out in a blaze of glory, to tap all the local squeezebox talent available to fill them all.  We weren’t quite sure what we were going to get, even after we had announced the shows, but we were able to at least promote the known unknowns here on episode 196 of our radio program.  At its original online home it was clocked at having been listened to 7140 times — surely more exposure to the music than to all the live audience members in all the rooms! — but due to their overall merit, we’re sure that that massive number will only continue to swell over time through listens to its new online home at the Internet Archive, where you can hear it today!  Here’s its playlist:

AccNoir-2010-09-15, Accordion Noir Festival III with foul language episode!

(That’s just the kind of accordionists we know I guess. Not for the faint of ear. I’m not sure why all our swearing songs got played tonight, maybe it’s our later noir-er time-slot? You can broadcast these in Canada if you warn people and it’s late-night, and artistically valid or something. Be warned, only listen at night. Also, come to our festival, it’s gonna be fun!)
