Accordion Noir radio playlist 2010-04-23: Jew’s Harp Noir
An old Accordion Noir tradition, during our parent radio station CFRO Co-Op Community Radio’s seasonal member drive fundraisers (currently underway, incidentally — you can support us with your contribution here!) is taking an episode off from accordions, who are left with a mere 50 episodes per year, to shine the spotlight on one of our fellow traveller underdog instruments. Ukuleles, banjos, bagpipes, theremins… we’ve covered a lot of them, and sooner or later we wound up doing a special, episode 175, focusing on that little twanger the Italians call the scacciapensiere, the “jaw harp”. At its original online home it logged some 7407 listens, but you can enjoy listening to it anytime courtesy of the Internet Archive. Here’s its playlist:
