Accordion Noir radio playlist 2019-12-25: Squeezing One For This Christmas

AccNoir 2019-12-25

Some years our weekly radio broadcast takes place on Christmas, and some years it does not. When it does, often other programs on the radio station schedule find they have family celebrations they need to attend to and … would it be possible for us to cover their spots? What I mean to say is that this week Bruce not only programmed and operated an episode of Accordion Noir Radio on Christmas Day, but also during the Soundscapes spot in the hour prior AND the Late Night spot the hour following. So if you are still in the market for three hours of accordion-heavy Christmas music, have I got a recording for you! Apple and Google podcast subscribers will already have received the good news, but if you like, you can also listen to the broadcast via the Internet Archive. Here’s its playlist!

AccNoir-2019-12-25, Squeezing One for this/last Last Christmas

I’m just going to interrupt the playlist at this juncture, as Bruce made it darned clear he wanted us to stress the link and the trailer for the Jingle Bell Rocks movie.

Now, where were we? Bruce also wanted to ensure we linked to the playlist (with some redundancy) of the three-hour Christmas episode we ran back six years ago — which it’s not at all clear to me we have a recording of! Fortunately, you can perhaps use this year’s broadcast to fill some holes in it. Speaking of which, on we go!

I think you’re right Rowan, the 2013 super-episode is from the “lost year” we don’t have show recordings of. Now I don’t feel so bad about replaying some of the same songs. This year is like a bonus re-boot. Cool beans. Happy Boxing Day!
