Accordion Noir radio playlist 2019-04-24: Rowan at the Wheels of Progress

April 24, 2019

Greetings from Rowan, the silent partner leading the Accordion Noir hype squad!  (That means you actually hear rather a lot of me here online, but only rarely on the actual episode recordings.)  For the second time in recent memory Bruce has needed to hand me the reins while he attends to some critical and surely accordion-related matter.  The only problem is that he’s the one with the massive accordion music collection — I just squirrel away odds and ends we encounter on social media and hopefully every six months or so they amount to an episode.  Twice in one month doesn’t give me time to replenish my stash, but fortunately Bruce has generously dumped a random sampling of tunes from his several-weeks-long “play on next episode maybe?” directory on me.  I skimmed some cream from the top, sprinkled it with my own recent findings, and hope that you enjoy the result!  It’s an incredible mix of styles and genres, as per usual, so I think I did Bruce proud.  If not, well, I’m sure you’ll be hearing him back at the controls next week 8)  If you missed it on the air this Wednesday night, you can hear the episode online courtesy of the Internet Archive.  And here’s its playlist:

* Creaking Planks (apres Andy Fielding) – Accordion Noir theme
* Po’ Girl – The Partisan – Home to You (2007)
* Regis Gizavo – Tsyka Holy – Stories (2006)
* Evgeny Grinko – Dusty Room – Naive Album (2019)
* Motion Trio – UFO – Play-Station (2001)
* Compassion Gorilla – Son Del Mar – Coalesce (2017)
