For last night’s episode of Accordion Noir, Rowan dropped by to hang out with Bruce and play some Hanukkah songs… I’m playing it cool but it’s all a ruse — actually,  it was a big deal since as our first broadcast of December, it marked our 12th anniversary of first going on the air!  And so we boldly plunge forward onward into lucky year number 13!  Bruce chats about his accordion history book, in the very closing stages of preparation, we talk up the monthly gathering of the Vancouver Squeezebox Circle (taking place tonight at Spartacus Books!), and of course the music is second to none.  You can hear the episode online at the Internet Archive.  Here’s its playlist:

This fellow from the UK heard about my book (go outreach!) and is now sending me a copy of his picture/art book, which looks really sweet. One more accordion book to balance out the 25,000+ guitar books. (Seems to be up to 60,000 online now.)

His instagram lets you click to see a slide-show with little clips of the music types pictured in the book. https://www.instagram.com/alexbarrow82/?hl=en (click “on sale now” I think.)

It’s an almost wordless folding “accordion book” with a smaller booklet that talks about the different music styles. Cool.

There’s two versions:

(Bruce’s message to me with the playlist included some great photos of the other accordion book, so I suppose I ought to dutifully include them here:)
