When we put on Accordion Noir episode number 91 ten years ago, we were celebrating Jason Webley’s incredible alt-accordion tour the Monsters of Accordion, working its way up the west coast right up to Seattle but no further.  It was an excellent lesson in “your alt accordion festival won’t come to you, you have to put on yourselves”, basically hauling bellows right to our backyard but stubbornly refusing to ring our front doorbell.  If nothing else, it proved inspirational.  In addition to its ringmaster, one of the monsters this time around was Seattle’s Amy Denio — both of them will be performing at our 11th annual Accordion Noir Festival’s Sept 14 Friday night opening party, and you can hear them both (plus Wendy McNeill, headlining our Sunday Sept 16 program!) on this playlist.  At its original online home it was enjoyed some 2255 times, and we hope future generations continue enjoying it over at the Internet Archive.  Now to help prime the pump, here’s its playlist:

This episode’s cover is the lovely Lon Cheney, exhibiting yet another aspect of his brilliance: “Man of a thousand buttons.”

Another quicker podcast attempt. Quantity and timeliness probably trump perfectionism. Hope you enjoy
