Accordion Noir 2018-08-29 radio playlist
Greetings all, it’s Rowan with the episode of Accordion Noir I programmed and broadcast for you last night! I don’t have Bruce’s bottomless vaults of unaired accordion music, so I mix up a heady playlist from my own meager reserves, topped up with such recently-viral tunes I have lately caught trending over social media. It’s always a weird mix, which really is an evergreen descriptor for our program, but in this case weird in the particular Rowan way rather than the standard Bruce way. (Speaking of whom, while I did make some abortive announcements about our festival upcoming in September, I totally dropped the ball and failed to announce his new campaign to build the e-mail list of supporters interested in his accordion history book, which is totally fully written and complete. If you have enjoyed our radio program and especially the early, most popular days of this blog before I took it over with radio playlists, you owe it to him to sign up today!)
Anyway, my point is, wherever you are and whatever time zone you live in, if you’re reliably online you can listen to last night’s episode as digital audio courtesy of the Internet Archive. Here’s its playlist!
Mark Mothersbaugh – Disenchantment theme song
Banjo Guy Ollie – Knight Rider theme song cover
the Creaking Planks – Accordion Noir theme song (after Andy Fielding)
Clem Snide – the Blob
The Band – Atlantic City (after Bruce Springsteen)
Kendálin – Polska Upstairs
Tetrix – Crazy As A Bird
The Book of Life soundtrack – I Will Wait For You (after Mumford & Sons)
Vladimirska – Rooftops at Nightfall
Ke$ha – Stephen
Alec K Redfearn – The Hole
DeVotchKa – Sunshine
The Heimatdamisch – Highway to Hell (after AC/DC)
Edward Maya & Mia Martina – Stereo Love
