From the Accordion Noir back archives, here’s another blast from the past — ten years ago, we received a two-part visit (both to our radio program and to the monthly Squeezebox Circle gathering) from Murray Brown and Doug McGarry from Roland, that renowned Japanese purveyor of electronic instruments, including the company’s long-sought quixotic ideal… the electronic accordion!  (Or more to the point, their proprietary V-accordion.)    While visiting us, they delivered a confident demonstration of its capabilities while deftly ducking our more punk inquiries into the potential to abuse the instrument’s capabilities beyond its intended parameters of Golden Age Of The Accordion applications.  (Ten years on now, someone must have violated their EULA and uncovered some circuit-bending hacks to spin our heads on top of our shoulders — but in the meantime, you can still enjoy the party line courtesy of this archival recording.)  At its original online home, this episode was visited some 8423 times… you can still enjoy it into the future (digital accordions… at one, looking both forward and back!) courtesy of the Internet Archive.  To whet your appetite, here’s the episode’s playlist!
