Accordion Noir radio playlist 2008-05-09: Nueve de Mayo with Manuél Magaña!

For the 76th episode of Accordion Noir radio, we nodded to the pseudo-holiday of Cinco de Mayo as an excuse to do a “spotlight on Mexico” episode.  But understanding that the occasion isn’t actually celebrated there… not necessarily at all, and certainly not the way us norteamericanos have been taught to expect, we leaned on the generously offered expertise of a genuinely Latinx friend, Manuél Magaña, to curate the playlist!  That’s a bit of a trip, as there’s no way I would have guessed that his guest spot came up a whole decade ago.  Maybe it’s time for a part 2!

At its original online home, this episode peaked at some 3358 listens logged, but at its new, forever online home… you should be able to continue enjoying it as digital audio into the indefinite future.  The only thing you might want to bring with you is this playlist, to help you best understand what it is you’re hearing.
