Accordion Noir radio playlist 2018-04-25: When Bruce is away, Rowan will play… songs on the radio

April 26, 2018

Bruce had to suddenly skip town — something about a mob of concertina players with pitchforks and torches I think, I’m not sure — so I held down the sound board at the CFRO controll room last night, airing a curious selection of accordion oddities I’d been gradually accruing in my “consider playing this on the radio show some day” directory.  What’s more, I found a belated birthday present from Bruce in our mailbox in the station, containing a T-shirt you see me modelling here in a very metal fashion.  (If you’d like your own, looks like you can find them over here.)  But enough about me, you can hear digital audio of last night’s hour of alt-accordion programming over here, and to help you pathetically try to make some sense of the squeezebox chaos that ensued, here’s its playlist:

Jackson Parodi – Windows ’95 startup sound
Creaking Planks (after Andy Fielding) – Accordion Noir theme
Michał Sawicki (after Luis Fonsi) – Despacito
Wolfgang Rihm – Fetzen 3
Debo Band – Habesha
Pickapepperproduction – Frankenmuth Man
Die Draufgänger (after Luis Fonsi) – Despacito
Lidia Kaminska – Duell
Luiz Gonzaga – Numa Sala de Reboco
Jeffrey Butzer – L’affaire de l’escalier deroule
Igorrr – Houmous
Angel Corpus Christi – Fall
Bob Dylan – Joey
Jack Paps – Andra
The Salt – Tarran the Tailor

Thanks for reading us here (and hopefully listening to us, there), but if you find you want more, you can always keep up with us on Twitter (@AccordionNoir and @AccordionBruce), Instagram (@AccordionNoirFest), and Facebook at Accordion Noir fansthe Accordion Noir Festival, and the Vancouver Squeezebox Circle. Cheers & squeeze on!
