Accordion Noir radio playlist 2008-03-07: International Women’s Day

March 5, 2018

For the 67th episode of Accordion Noir radio, back on March 7th of 2008, we decided to celebrate International Women’s Day… and happily, we were joined in the studio by Victoria’s own (but now firmly entrenched in her chosen home of Berlin) Natasha Enquist!

We always make an effort to be inclusive in our programming, both on the air and at our festivals and concerts, but as the recording industry hasn’t always shared that priority marginalized groups haven’t been represented according to their true proportions among the population.  We could do a whole year of all-women programming and it would be just a drop in the bucket, but an exclusive hour now and then is better than a kick in the pants!

At its original online home this episode was enjoyed 12602 times and future generations will continue enjoying the recording at its new host in to perpetuity.  (We’ll stop progamming all-women episodes of Accordion Noir in the post-patriarchy.)  And now here’s the playlist so you can better understand just what it is you’re hearing.  Enjoy!
