Accordion Noir radio playlist 2008-02-22: Chutzpah Festival 2008
From ten years ago, here’s Accordion Noir radio episode number 65! After a year or so on the air we began to suss out at just which local festivals (other than our own, of course) one can find accordionists brought into town to strut their stuff. There’s a pack of them in the spring, usually led with the Chutzpah festival of Jewish culture in the vanguard. (While not the first time I saw him perform live, which would have been at the Britannia school auditorium opening for Dan Bern, in a lineup at the Chutzpah festival is the first time I met Geoff Berner! Not long after that, they stopped inviting him back… but I digress.) Through the years they have consistently offered a great slate of varied programming, and of course it is always easier to get someone else to bring the accordionists in from far-flung locales than to do the fundraising to do it ourselves.
At its original online home this episode, a Chutzpah festival promotion, racked up some 12798 listens… and you can continue enjoying listening to this episode at its new, forever home. Now here’s the playlist!
