Hola!  Today on Accordion Noir Classic Theatre it’s our 45th episode, from way back on October 10th of 2007.  We were doing some kind of Fall Member Drive special theme over at Co-Op Radio and so this was the first of three episodes we dubbed as part of our “Polkapocalypse” set.  I believe this was our compromise after the threat of playing polka records on-air, which could be pulled from the turntable and smashed in the name of financial sponsors, was kiboshed.  Instead we tried to play songs that technically fit in the polka idiom (and its various regional descendants) but escaped the genre’s staid curse.

These episodes seem to have proven popular over the years, this one racking up some 15345 logged listens at its original online host, and going forward you can enjoy it over at the Internet Archive. Here’s its playlist to help you keep tabs on what you’re hearing:
