Just in case you wondered who was at the reins of this runaway train, radio host Bruce gave us a reassuring title for last night’s episode of Accordion Noir.  What’s the theme?  What’s it all about?  The closest he’ll come to committing is describing it as the “Stolen Babies’ Dominique and Frankie Yankovic Birthday Special”, which really tells you more about what time of year it aired than what you’ll find inside.  But you already know what you’ll find inside — an eclectic melange of diverse accordion musics from all around the world, performed in a wide variety of styles!  So let’s get down to it.  You can download last night’s broadcast by following this link, and to help you follow along, you can find its playlist below.

And there you have it!  Stay tuned for… next week’s episode.  Of course, we run every Wednesday night!  Also, a week from tonight sees the August installment of our monthly Vancouver Squeezebox Circle running at Spartacus Books — the Squeezebox Circle Orchestra is learning some Noir tunes to perform at the 9th annual Accordion Noir Festival coming up in September, so you won’t want to miss out on all the fun!  Until then, you can get breaking updates in the world of free-reed aerophones by following us on Twitter at @AccordionNoir and @AccordionBruce.  Cheers and squeeze on!
