Accordion Ascii Keyboard Art by accordionboy

Accordionboy has started gathering a collection of Accordion Ascii Art.  I can’t believe these aren’t from my Accordion Noir Radio co-host Rowan.

Art made from “Ascii” keyboard cheractars, from back in the days of digital art where all you had to work with was the text you could program on your screen manually.   What could be more appropriate to the old-tech-made-new world of the accordion than joining it with the retro world of computer-clubs and hand mimeographed amateur programming magazines?  Quite fun.

Thanks for your comment on our Gramaphony Radio post Accordionboy!  Hopefully folks will check your collection out.

I don’t know how he formats it to look like it’s on computer paper, mine looks a little wonky but you get the idea.

The first one even looks a little like Rowan (before he cut his beard.)

One tricky thing with Ascii art is the internet, because browsers sometimes drop spaces. You can resolve this by adding the html tag

before the Image, paste the text, then close it with

Glad you liked it: one reason I love accordions is that they are very social. So I hope everyone shares the ascii art and help in turn encourage more people to take up this wonderful instrument!
