Tony Cedras, South African jazz, etc. accordion great
March 15, 2012
Just got clued in to Tony Cedras thanks to jazz researcher S. Singer, appreciation!
I’d read Cedras’ name on the Graceland liner-notes, but didn’t know who he was.
From South Africa, he’s played with many, many people over the years.
Check this recording with Saxophonist Henry Threadgill. It should blow your mind, in a fine way.

Here’s another lovely, subtle Cedras cut, this time with South African group Kaissa:

Sweet stuff!
